so i herd u liek trollin?

This was something that Firion had to do on his own, and he couldn't let that Evan got hurt in the process. So, he started walking, telling him that he was going to check to make sure there weren't any monsters around. It wasn't a surprise for him, all of this. He was used to fight creatures in Hell and in the War.

He has seen too much blood, and yet he stands trying to help everyone. The darkness of the place didn't make him hesitate at all. He had a strong will, and he had all the support of his friends inside his heart. They were always with him, no matter the place. And Firion was glad to know that.

At the distance, he could see the figures. Was that the witch? He didn't know. But he had his weapons near him just in case. There was no going back now. Firion was strong like to protect them all. Also, nobody had the right to play with other people's lifes like that.

Firion kept walking, determinated to end this.

The tempreature rose with every step the young warrior took, to the point where his own clothes burned his skin. The sea of trees and the impenetrable darkness were still the only thing surrounding him.

After a little while, even his shoes were no help for the heat. Firion's armor was starting to leave a mark on his shoulders and chest. A dense sulfur smell filled his lungs the next time he tried to breathe, and the sound of running water could be faintly heard.

[identity profile] enepece.livejournal.com 2010-07-20 11:44 pm (UTC)(link)
A steaming river of boiling waters was not far from there. The young warrior could feel his eyes, mouth and chest dry, the heat zapping him from his strength quickly.

But something caight his attention, floating in the acid waterm partially hidden by the steam. A bow and a couple of arrows.

Silence was his answer. As he got close to the river's shore, he could see that, even when badly damaged by the acid, the bow looked familiar.

A weapon he had seen a thousand times in her hands.

[identity profile] enepece.livejournal.com 2010-07-21 12:10 am (UTC)(link)
A few meters away from the bow was a white stone tablet, just like the one in the entrance to the forest. It was impossible to read what was written in it.

But that wasn't what he was looking at right now. There was something floating nearby. It looked like weed, but the idea was quickly rejected, since no plants could grow in these acid waters.

It was hair. Black hair.

[identity profile] enepece.livejournal.com 2010-07-21 01:25 am (UTC)(link)
The floating hair didn't move much, except to follow the water stream, it almost looked like something was holding her in that place.

As Firion moved, he could also see part of her swollen, lifeless face under the water.

The spear barely managed to touch her hair, her dull eyes lost somewhere in the depts of the river. The acid of the water started damaging the spear as Firion tried once and once again to reach his friends.

"Please stop...", said a quiet, soothing voice from behind him.

Cecil was standing there, looking sadly at his friend. He reached for Firion's shoulders and pulled him carefully away from the river's shore.

"She's gone... please, don't risk yourself any longer."

The young king of Baron shook his head softly and wiped away Firion's tears with his thumbs. "There was nothing you could've done. Don't burden yourself with a guilt that should not be yours..."

[identity profile] enepece.livejournal.com 2010-07-21 02:36 am (UTC)(link)
"As we all do...", whispered Cecil. "It's fine to be sad. Mourn her... but you can't stay here."

The paladin said nothing more, but silently offered his shoulder for his grieving friend.

"One thing at a time", said Cecil, in that calm and fatherly voice he used when everything seemed lost. He didn't look bothered by the intense heat.

*NOMS TOO*

Cecil rose to his feet and helped Firion do the same. His eyes looked sad, but calm, as he looked over to where Maria's head floated... and the stone tablet in the river.

YES. I PUT A LITTLE KETCHUP ON THE LAST ONE.

"I don't know", answered the paladin. "But it is the only thing that calls for attention in this desolated place."

YAY.
