so i herd u liek trollin?

This was something that Firion had to do on his own, and he couldn't let that Evan got hurt in the process. So, he started walking, telling him that he was going to check to make sure there weren't any monsters around. It wasn't a surprise for him, all of this. He was used to fight creatures in Hell and in the War.

He has seen too much blood, and yet he stands trying to help everyone. The darkness of the place didn't make him hesitate at all. He had a strong will, and he had all the support of his friends inside his heart. They were always with him, no matter the place. And Firion was glad to know that.

At the distance, he could see the figures. Was that the witch? He didn't know. But he had his weapons near him just in case. There was no going back now. Firion was strong like to protect them all. Also, nobody had the right to play with other people's lifes like that.

Firion kept walking, determinated to end this.

The young king of Baron shook his head softly and wiped away Firion's tears with his thumbs. "There was nothing you could've done. Don't burden yourself with a guilt that should not be yours..."

"As we all do...", whispered Cecil. "It's fine to be sad. Mourn her... but you can't stay here."

The paladin said nothing more, but silently offered his shoulder for his grieving friend.

"One thing at a time", said Cecil, in that calm and fatherly voice he used when everything seemed lost. He didn't look bothered by the intense heat.

Cecil rose to his feet and helped Firion do the same. His eyes looked sad, but calm, as he looked over to where Maria's head floated... and the stone tablet in the river.

YES. I PUT A LITTLE KETCHUP ON THE LAST ONE.

"I don't know", answered the paladin. "But it is the only thing that calls for attention in this desolated place."

YAY.

"It is a little far for you to see, don't you think?"

Cecil looked thoughtful, taking a hand to his lips. The river would claim its next victim as soon as any of them put a foot in there, and there was no way to reach the stone.

Cecil kept silent, letting Firion think things calmly. He walked a couple of steps near the water, his eyes fixed on the white stone.

"... I'm afraid I cannot help, my friend."

Cecil seemed to be thinking the same, as his eyes landed on the spear again. "Maybe you could use it as a pole? It would be risky, but maybe you'd reach the stone that way."

*blind :D*

Firion barely managed to reach the white stone safely. Cecil stayed in the same spot he was before, looking at the water in silence.

The tablet was decorated with the same images of the woman and the man carved on the stone, the image of the man was heavily damaged too. The words Call the Witch and speak your answer were engraved on it. Beside those words, a white envelope with a golden one winged eagle rested, the same envelope that was in the inn's message board.

There's a corpse under the bed. The doors are closed and the windows cannot be opened or broken. The house is locked but her room is burnt beyond recognition. This is the work of a witch.

Prove me wrong.

As Firion ended his theory, small letters appeared in the riddle page.

Why would she be under the bed if she was poisoned?
It was plain day, no candles were inside the room.

Why would she burn something in plain day? There is no fireplace in the room.

Beato: *no :D*
