FORGIVE MY TL;DR.
Oww... his head was killing him. It wasn't unusual for reploids to repeat relevant data while on standby, just like human 'dreams', but this particular one has been all he has dreamed about since he woke up in HQ a few weeks ago.
Lumine defeated. One last attack. Light. And then that asshole's voice over and over again like a broken record.
It was getting boring by now. You'd think nutjobs like him would've an ace under their sleeves a bit more... dangerous than repeating their last words inside one's head, Axl pondered. Of course he hadn't told a thing to both X and Zero. It was creepy enough to know that X never left his side until he opened his eyes, and kept hanging around him like he was some kind of dying patient. Not that he didn't like the attention, mind you, but...
Well, it was X. If Zero had done that, he'd totally blame that Lumine asshat.
"I hear you alright, shut the fuck up", he muttered, quite annoyed. He'd need to be very, very subtle while asking Noctile about voices in one's h--
Wait.
Axl stood up and looked around. This... wasn't HQ. Actually, he was pretty sure this wasn't any place he knew at all. He didn't know much about religion and stuff, but the place looked like an old worshipping place. He could almost hear X's voice saying 'It's a Cathedral' in that weird, fatherly voice he used when he was not bordering a nervous collapse during missions.
The question now was: Why was he in an unknown building big enough to fit the HQ lab at least thrice? It all looked pretty real, and his scans didn't show any kind of energy around.
"This isn't a good time to go bonkers, Axl", he whispered to himself while securing the area. There was no signal in the comm. No way to contact his fellow Hunters. No life signs. In a nutshell? He was completely and positively lost. This wasn't his
Plop.
"Come on, say we're doomed once again, you bastard. I dare you", taunted the reploid as he grabbed his guns and turned to the door down the hall, where he had heard steps.
One thing was certain, he thought with a smirk. If things turned nasty, he'd sure as hell kick whatever was in the other side right to Lumine's rusting ass up in the moon.
"Bring it on!"

THREE YEARS LATER.
[Thumbs up, grinning.] So don't worry, old timer. I got that covered up. Come on, we're here now.
ILU.
Go, you must be busy.
